Graduated Haverford College majoring in philosophy, then worked as a reporter for several years in the sports section of Newsday before going on to write for magazines specializing in sports -- especially golf -- contributing feature stories, essays and op-eds to dozens of publications including the Hartford Courant, Newsday, the online 'zine Suck, the Weekly Forward, and Wired, while performing as a stand-up comedian and as an actor with small theatrical companies.

In 2011 he had a leading role in performance artist Liz Magic Laser's celebrated I Feel Your Pain at the SVA Theater in Manhattan, and in the summer of 2015 debuted off-Broadway in Devoted Dreams.
